RIP Letters Privacy Policy

Last updated: July 19, 2026

RIP Letters is an early prototype for writing personal messages for loved ones and previewing how those messages could be organized for future delivery.

This policy describes the current prototype. Production features such as cloud sync, real emails, push notifications, payments, physical mail, identity verification, and release workflows are not active yet.

Information You Enter

The app may let you enter your name, email address, recipients, trusted contacts, letters, drafts, release preferences, prompt settings, final wishes, practical instructions, and tester feedback.

In the current prototype, this information is stored locally on your device. It is not synced to a production cloud account by RIP Letters.

Private Letter Content

Letters, drafts, final wishes, release notes, and personal instructions are private content. The current prototype is intended for testing the experience only. Do not rely on it for real delivery, emergency workflows, or permanent storage.

Before production launch, private content should be protected with production-grade cloud security, encryption, access controls, and audit logging.

How Information Is Used

Prototype data is used to let you test the app experience, including writing letters, saving recipients, previewing release plans, reviewing prompt language, and exporting or clearing local data.

RIP Letters does not use this prototype to sell personal data, serve third-party advertising, or track you across apps and websites.

Recipients And Trusted Contacts

Recipients should only be able to view finished letters addressed to them after release rules are satisfied in a future production service. Trusted contacts should only receive verification information and should not see letters unless they are also named as recipients.

In this prototype, recipient inboxes, trusted contact alerts, emails, and release workflows are previews only and do not send real messages.

Notifications, Email, And Payments

The prototype may show notification, email, delivery, pricing, and payment screens for planning and feedback. It does not send real push notifications or emails, collect real payments, create subscriptions, or fulfill physical mail.

Data Retention And Deletion

The prototype includes local export and clear-data controls. Clearing local data removes data saved by the prototype on that device.

Future cloud features will need server-side deletion, backup retention, support, audit, and legal review rules before launch.

Children

RIP Letters includes prototype flows for parents or guardians writing to minor children. The app is not intended for children to use without a parent or guardian. Do not enter information about children unless you are authorized to do so.

Changes

This policy will change as RIP Letters moves from prototype to production. Any production version should publish an updated policy before cloud accounts, real delivery, payments, analytics, or fulfillment vendors are connected.
